Tin Mine

Among the mine-pits was my second home,
With earth's red ribs surrounded, hack'd away
By Cornish heroes underneath the sod,
And piled in heaps on the disfigured plain.

From 'A Story of Carn Brea' by John Harris

This is taken at Wheal Coates, a former tin mine in an impressive location on the Cornish coast.
