Jubilee Pool

We took Isabelle and her friend to Penance to catch the 9.15 ferry to the Isles of Scilly for the world pilot gig championships. After waving them off popped around the corner to see the famous Jubilee Pool, a very stylish old lido. It was shut and not filled with water but still a striking structure.

Built 75 years ago for George V's silver jubilee it was well used for 50 years before falling into disrepaor. Rescued by a public campaign led by John Clarke a local architect and father of one of Films's oldest friends, Liz who as hope to visit except for someone lost her phone number. But anyway, it'd sad to see the pool is once again under threat from council cut backs.
