A Sasanach's Skye photos

The black sheep

I would think this is a little unusual; a white sheep with a black lamb. However we noted that in this flock quite a number of the lambs were in fact black yet all the ewes were white. There were a couple of Jacobs sheep with their white lambs with black spots but this did not explain the phenomena that we see in this photograph.

I shall ask my brother-in-law why he thinks so many of his lambs this year are black. As you can see his land is ajacent to Loch Portree; that is Portree in the distance with the Storr beyond.

We have been enjoying some very warm sunny weather recently. It makes a very pleasant change from the gales and rain that are so common in the winter months.
