North Fork Nooksack River - Words from an era gone

Found these fossils today while doing some work on the North Fork Nooksack River in Whatcom County, WA. The fossils are part of some lacustrine (lake deposits) sediments that are being exposed as the river erodes into them. Thought it was a good reminder that present processes are effected past processes and vice versa...
