Lotus Lanterns

In Korea the birthday of Buddha is a national holiday, coming up May 17th.
Lotus lanterns cover entire temples across the country throughout the month which are often flooded down the street.
This is a temple located just down the street from our apartment. I never even knew the temple was there until I jogged past it the other day and saw the lotus lanterns hanging up and down the street.
This is definitely my favorite holiday in Korea. I love the lanterns--such a beautiful way to celebrate one of this country's mainstay religions.
