Do and don't

A truly unforgettable few days.

- In London, squats and social centres, including a popular community garden, were raided by police and arrests made, largely relating to "abstracting electricity". Nothing, says the Met, to do with the wedding. Cough. Link

- Three well-known performance theatre activists "pre-emptively" arrested before they could even leave their homes. Link

- This morning, a tongue-in-cheek Royal Zombie flash mob was prevented from taking place by police in Soho. The main officer was videoed saying that "people here who are enjoying the royal wedding don't want you to be here": Link

- Police have stopped people from reaching the recognised Republican party in Bloomsbury. Link

- At least 50 political Facebook groups have been removed by Facebook, including many anti-cuts pages, but not the racist English Defence League or British National Party. Link

Repeatedly in relation to many of these incidents we're hearing the phrase "pre-emptive arrests". So like in Minority Report. Pre-crimes, in other words.

We're also hearing about people being charged with "conspiracy to cause a public nuisance."

Somewhat ironic seeing as I am currently prevented from getting any milk from my local convenience store cos of the partying hipsters literally filling the street outside.

You might say I am not in the spirit of the day. I shan't tell you what I would say in reply.
