The oldest resident in the street...

Today, after watching the majority of the actual Royal Wedding ceremony, me and my Dad went into the heart of Barnsley and took some snaps of people making the most of a new bank holiday by holding a street party. Lots of young children in fancy dress, sandwiches and beer made a perfect afternoon to match a perfect wedding.

This lovely old lady is the oldest resident in Swift street, Barnsley and this earned her the right to cut the ribbon declaring the party open. She sat outside her house waving a tiny union jack enjoying herself in style!
