Salad Bar

I was walking through the market looking for dinner with some students when I passed this stand. It has always seemed a little strange to me to sell cooked vegetables like this, piles of cold, limp veggies. You use tongs to pick up a few different of whatever you want and put them on a plate. The vendor counts up how much they cost, puts them in a bag, and you go home. You can also buy a variety of sauces, from spicy fishy sauce to milder salty sauce, at this stand (in the bowls next to the veggies).

I pass the stand regularly, but today was the first day I saw it differently. This is our market's salad bar. Looking at it like that, I almost wanted to fill up a plate for myself. :)
