The Highlanders Lineout

The big game was today, we got our tickets on Wednesday for the Highlanders (our beloved local team) v the Auckland Blues (the enemy). The game was very unimpressive and lacked a lot and wasnt helped by the fact the referee had a very ordinary game to be generous to him. It was a great night out none the less.

It got me thinking......

I wonder when it was last the a fan of a local team that gets beaten thinks the referee was outstanding, my guess it was years and years and that the fan was a bit loopy. The flack that the referees of today have to take from the fans is unbearable. It makes you wonder what motivates someone to take up refereeing in the first place or is the fact that they want to prove the theory that all officials are NUTS.
The guy tonight was for sure!!!!!
