Keeping an eye on the folks next door

I posted a picture of these birds some time ago, building their nest; today I went over to see if they had chicks. Not yet, but as you see, she is sitting, so I shall check in occasionally to see when the family arrives, although they are really high up in a pine tree. It is a wonderful spot, with a clear view all around, looking over the forest at the back and with a lakeside view from the front - prime osprey real estate. There are another pair living close by, and there was a great deal of squealing and watchfulness. Shortly after this, first one, then the other went soaring into the air to hustle the neighbours back to their own neck of the woods. They were fun to watch.
