War of the Thistles 2011 Day 1...

The War of the Thistles is turning out to be one of the biggest skateboarding competitions on this island this year.  For 2011 as has become usual, we held the first day at Unit23 skatepark in Dumbarton just outside Glasgow.
Chick who owns and runs Unit23 has done another sterling job re-modelling one of his halls to give everyone some fresh obstacles to throw themselves off of and throw them off and down they did.
This is Ruari who I think is based in Edinburgh but skated brilliantly all weekend, skating so consistently and smoothly on everything.
The nature of the way we run the compton leaves it very open and loads of people including Ruari walked away with their share of the prize pot but in the end the skater of the day and half of the trophy for the day went to a young Edinburgh guy called Martin who skated brilliantly all day and kept coming up with tricks and takes on obstacles that no one even contemplated.  I know not many people will understand this, but...Foot Plant blunt shove it out.  Eh!?!?!
