Steam Donkey

Built in 1903 for the McDonald and Vaughn Logging Company, this donkey was used by "Bill" Vaughn or a partner form 1905 until 1950 in their Coos County forest lands on the North Fork Coquille, Middle Creek, and Blue Ridge. It was donated to the Coos County Historical Society. It pulle huge logs for the forest to the loading area and then the cable was pulled back to the wood by a horse. The new "sled was donated by the Menasha Corporation or North Bend, OR in 1994
