Street photography beyond the breaking point

Sometimes people leave a composition behind them as they pass. This one reminds me of my friend Marion's poem,

WILL I EVER
live somewhere

Where the hallways
don't betray evidence

of

Someone
Beyond/their/Breaking/Point?
--Marion Sue Fischer.

I've been having a conversation with a fellow known on Flickr as Xpatscot. He is (are we surprised?) an ex-pat Scot living in Australia and blogging thoughtfully about photography. This picture is for him, for Marion, for those who are currently beyond their breaking point, and for street photographers who are moved by the passing human drama but fear their intrusion would add to the suffering of others (e.g., photographs of people grieving.)
