Sportsday

Today at the school I teach is was sportsday. I helped out in with the first year's day. It was a great day to be outside and do all the outdoor activities - canoe race (see photo), mountain bike, field run, obstacle course, archery, etc.

There was a little bit of competition. The 100 or so pupils were divided in 6 (self selected) teams. I 'coached' a team of boys, they were quite competitive... It was amazing to see that they just kept going and going. Proudly to say that they won the overall price (hey, being a former race rower, I am quite competitive myself!). The prize consisted of 2 packs of strawberries (we were in Hoogstraten, that's where most of the Belgian strawberries come from).
