Jess's Den - no more

Molly the Explorer made herself known to us almost as soon as she arrived home. Eventually we decided that we were going to have to erect a new fence. In 30 months with us, Jess had never found a way out, and Molly found several escape routes almost immediately.

When we bought the fence-posts and the wire, the dogs were only curious. Even when the posts were driven into the ground, Jess & Molly did not seem to know what all the activity was about.

But Jess knew, as soon we started to unroll the bales of wire. She had a little private corner, under the hedge and just out of sight in this shot, bottom-right. This is where she gathered her toys and where she went for a little peace and quiet. She knew that she was about to be shut out of this retreat, and that it would be permanent. She quite deliberately went to lie in it and could not be persuaded to come out. Eventually we had to get a lead attached to her collar and pull her out from her den.

Poor Jess - having to pay for the sims of Molly.
