New York from the water

This is the view that the immigrants would have seen as their boats reached the mouth of the Hudson just as they were taken to Ellis Island to be processed and shipped over to the city.

Very interesting boat ride past where the twin towers would have been, its amazing how you don't grasp how big these were and how much the event plays in the every day life the New York people.

I dont understand why they are now building a new "super" tower net to ground zero though.

the view from left to right is Liberty Island, Jersey City and Downtown Manhattan

I am trying to capture some less touristy shots but its so hard not to use these sort of photos.
