Pot toad

The toads are in full song this week. A few got a head start with mating season a couple of weeks ago with a warm spell. Then it got cool, then warmed up again with some rain and all the toads and frogs are awake and singing for a good time. This American toad is sitting on top of some wet moss and between some sprouted maple trees. Our yard is hopping with toads most years. Most have lawns, we have lots of foliage offering shelter. The moon-ray lights help attract meals at night, too.
