Ben Ledi

Decided to be keen today and stretch the legs up a hill. Ben Ledi was the closest and althought not a Munro as it's less than 3000 feet, its 2883 feet so a fair old walk.

Did you know that the light from the sun is thought to take around 100,000 years to get from the middle of the sun and on it's way to us plus the 8 minutes to get here. So appreciate it when it arrives because the end of the line is the back of your eye for a bunch of those photons! Funny what you think about when you are having a high altitude sandwich on a fine day.

This is the memorial to Sgt Harry Lawrie near the summit. He lost is life while on duty with the mountain rescue team in 1987. Thought this was better than some scenic panorama. A tribute to all the hardy, dedicated and brave people who volunteer for this. Killin Mountain Rescue
