Alan's Album

Hebden Beck

A bracingly wet 6.5 mile walk in Wharfedale around the Hebden area.

Started with a good cup of tea in the Old Schoolhouse Tea Room and, due to the wet weather, we finished up there as well and discovered that it is owned and run by the mother of one of Lizzie's old school friends. Small World.

Lots of birds including curlew, oyster catchers, and lapwings. Came across one lapwing chick sat in the middle of the footpath looking very lost and lonely. Let's hope mother lapwing found her missing chick. Buzzed by curlews on Edge Top, I guess we must have been too close to their nest for their comfort. But it did give us some really close up views of the curlews.
