New Health and safety laws bought in today mean that Royal Mail carrier pigeons now have to use other methods of travel other than the sky.

This is for their own safety as well as that of Passenger planes after a number of "Bird strikes" over the last five years.

The worst of which saw 100's of starlings slaughtered by the inappropriate use of a Boeing 747 engine
