The Windsor's are coming to town

Possibly the highest security operation ever is in place for the visit of the Windsor's starting tomorrow. There have been a lot of complaints about the large amount of tax payer's money being used, due to the current state of the nation's finances. However this is money well spent if the expected global exposure results in a large increase in tourism. Here's hoping.

Some of their itinerary is interesting, visiting the Garden of Rememberance shows a respect for the creation of our nation and acknowledgment of the many Irish who served in the Second World War.

We share a chequered past with our neighbour. Relations are good between us. The one place I found fascinating is their planned trip to Croke Park. A very highly emotive choice.

However I think there is an ulterior motive for this:
The hammering of the English rugby team is becoming an annual event.
We now have beaten you at cricket.

Are they are going to try their hand at hurling and Gaelic Football??? :-)

I reckon they will enjoy their historic visit, personally delighted that they have included the Rock of Cashel. CEAD MILE FAILTE...
