the road to swanston

Although we live in the city of Edinburgh, it's just a short walk to Swanston village, which as you can see looks very rural. Just below the village is the golf club-house, a great stop for coffee and scones after all that (30 mins?!) walking. The manicured grass on the left belongs to Lothianburn golf course - Swanston course is ahead, below the gorse, and off the right of this pic.

Took dad to Haddington to collect his car at lunchtime - he'd scraped the paintwork a couple of weeks ago trying to squeeze past an illegally parked truck. He was delighted to have it back as it means he doesn't have to rely on his sons to get him to the nursing home to visit mum.
