Our CCF windsurfer was in action today after a long rest.
When I was taught dinghy sailing (last century, near Maastricht in the Netherlands), the instructor (whose dayjob was running a NATO ammunition depot) hated windsurfers. "Frighten them into falling off. When they're paddling, they are powered craft and must give way to sail", he'd say.

My other instructor ended up as a General and is now is the news for writing to the Iraq enquiry to try to set the record straight about That Dossier.

I learned a lot from both of them - and not just about sailing.
