Wherever he was going, he was prepared to not slow down in the slightest when approaching oncoming pedestrians and cyclists to get there, similarly unafraid to not use a bell, if he even had one fitted. He did have brakes as he had to briefly lightly tap them when a pair of surprise neds popped out of a park in front of him without looking but seemed to otherwise assume, as too many seem to, that the off-road cycle paths are a private racetrack.
