Constructed Spaces

Bright blue sky for Seattle and more to come - yeah! One could not help looking up.

I had a great talk with a painter friend yesterday who mentioned how we painters are always constructing spaces on a canvas, and filling it with all manner of things. I always struggle with what I am doing with a canvas, and have always loved the kinds of constructed spaces in urban spaces with the juxtaposition of building sides, facades, windows and then light and shadows. This is an alley with a great old fire escape stairway. Seattle has far fewer of these than older cities in the United States.

Temperature is in low 60's and it is simply beautiful! Time to get the deck clean from all the mold, and there is plenty of that from this wet year. Plus moss all over the roof.
