The lure of shiny objects

Sat at a café when the trademark noise of a Harley elbowed into the conversation at the table, demanding attention. Once the noise had died down and the owner had dismounted my annoyance subsided and visual curiosity took over. Something about the determination in the design of the engine - seemingly more determined to express its character than striving to fulfil functional requirements.
I walked over to it and took a picture. Here it is.
