Glasgow

I've been in Glasgow the last two days visiting my friend Jen who I haven't seen for half a year. More than half a year!! The last time I saw her was in Stansted airport after travelling the Balkans.

Last night we went to a couple of pubs in the west end near Jen's place. A lot of the bars around here are quite 'teuchtery', in that they are full of old Highlanders and they usually have a small band of traditional musicians. We spent our time sat opposite an old, grey, friendly faced man nursing a pint and a wee nip. To fit in with the crowd we started chasing all of our pints with Famous Grouse. We later moved on to a near-by bar to dance on some tables. Something totally safe.

Today, after curing our headaches with croissants, coffee and apple juice, we took a walking tour of Glasgow. We visited the Heatherington building. A university building occupied by squatters for 110 days who are oppsing the cuts to unis. We spent the rest of the day in vintage/antique shops admiring everything and buying nothing.
