Lesley's day by day

On his way

This is the school party leaving Aberdeen Harbour on their way to Orkney. They are some of the people on the top deck at the back. We went up to Torry Battery with some coffee in our 'Vacaville' thermal mugs, and ate scones and Cadbury's chocolate biscuits while we waited for them to sail out of the harbour. What a marvellous feeling sailing out of the harbour but even better on Saturday morning sailing back in ... at least we will think so!!

The ferry was the Hrossey and is a vessel operated by Northlink Ferries
Year Built: 2002- some stats on it are as follows:

Length x Breadth: 125 m X 19 m
DeadWeight: 1563 t
Speed recorded (Max / Average): 17.5 / 14.3 knots.

Due at Kirkwall just after 11pm tonight.
