Red in the Green

Another early early morning, but this time my brother, Adam, and I were luckier with the red squirrels. Although they were still a little twitchy, so the appearances were fleeting. Mind you, less fleeting than the woodpecker, which could be heard, but not seen...

After that we headed to Alford and the Grampian Transport Museum, for Cyclefest. En route we stopped at a great bakery in Inverurie for breakfast, and I stumbled across locally made Kiwi pies - steak, with cheese in the middle, which I've not seen anyone make since we were in NZ about 7 years ago. They had to be bought. As did some butteries/rowies for breakfast tomorrow... I almost came home from Cyclefest with another bike, bidding up to £140 on a 50s Holdsworth in great condition, but only having the offer accepted conditionally as it was slightly below the reserve. The owner was not to be budged on price, and so I let it go...

The drive back home was uneventful, but ended with home-baked scones with jam and clotted cream, and a glass of champagne. That's a nice way to set up the rest of Sunday night.
