Fledgling Rook

Found this young Rook under the Cardington Rookery. It wasn't able to fly properly so I can only think that it had fallen out of the nest! It's Mother was on hand and making a real fuss and eventually the fledgling scrambled into the middle of a huge patch of brambles. Whilst it was quite safe where it was I'm not at all confident about it's chances in the long run.

On a brighter note I saw my first Kingfisher of the year on Cardington Brook this evening :)
