Scrapping

Today we got a new stove, or a different stove, from Charlie who was switching to gas. So we hauled our old stove to the curb and put a free sign on it. We also put it on Craiglist. I guess I was naive to think someone would get it that actually needed a stove. Within a half an hour there was a woman outside, preparing to strip it of its valuable copper wires. She promised she would take the whole thing, but I didn't see how that would happen travelling in a sedan already full of bric-a-brac. As she worked on it for more than two hours, it turned out that I knew her from work, and we ended up helping her tie the stove to the top of her vehicle. I just hope she made it to the scrap yard
