Woodpecker in the Woods

Walking in the woods, I heard this tap tap tap. It's so much more fun to see these pileated woodpeckers on the cedar trees than hanging on my suet feeder. He was way at the bottom of the tree so I didn't have to look up.
Turned into a beautiful day this afternoon - first day of no rain. keep it up!! (need several more for the deck to dry out to put finish on). H build the front wall of the shed by himself (and it fit!!!!- amazing...) and I cleaned more of the studio but got distracted by a mosaic project. All good. Magic Flute on the radio opera today. Also good. This is always a fine time, in May. Quiet, so I can get my thoughts together.......
