Fern Gully, on the road to Kanimbla Valley

This is one of my favourite places in the immediate area.

It's an expansive fern forest, punctuated with gum trees and massive sandstone boulders that would have fallen as the cliffline above retreated over time. It's an ancient place that is always devoid of people, very quiet and still.

Today is not the day to wade into it. It's very wet and everything would soon be drenched. I will have to don my hiking boots and protective gear before I immerse myself into it and, hopefully, do it better justice.
