At the Marche des Puces

Today we woke late, just in time to have breakfast at our hotel. We are staying in the 17th Arrondissement north of the Seine near L'Arc de Triomphe. Yesterday we arrived and met Wade at the hotel. He took us to our nearest Metro and we figured out which routes we needed to get to La Cite and to a Flea Market that takes place every Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Today we went to the market. It is huge! We didn't see a third of it I am sure. What we did do though was to immediately locate one of the two sellers of writing instruments. There we purchased two lovely old hard rubber pens made at the turn of the century. Both were by French makers. We were delighted to find them. Veronique, the lady who sold them to us, was very friendly and jolly. I spoke French and she a bit of English so our communication was good.

As we walked home we spotted this large cast leopard. Of course I had to take a photograph and decided it would be my blip for today.
