Abbotsford House

This is a detail from the south facade of Abbotsford House in the Scottish Borders. Sir Walter Scott designed it as his own home to show off his collection of books, manuscripts and memorabilia, and it sparked off a wave of Scottish Baronial architecture.

I have been peripherally involved with the restoration of Abbotsford for some time and the event that took place today was another step forward.
