Mr. Joe's Blips

Joe was kind enough to scare the shit Guinness out of us driving on the left hand side of the road. Oh, wait, they all do that here. And cars pass each other with inches to spare!

Mr JBlips makes a wonderful tour guide. We visited Glendalough, near his home in Arklow, well near-ish anyway, with running commentary on everything from parliamentarians to the [bad state of the] economy, to local flora and [lack of] fauna (except gray squirrels, a menace), to history and geography. And he takes gud pitchers too. Glendalough is a wonder. They (ancient monks) built a tall tower without masonry, just stones piled up on each other.

The setting is a lovely natural V-shaped valley. As you progress upstream it starts to look like valleys in the Banff Canada area, bare alpine with lots of gray rock. Mineralized too (sphalerite).
