Oxfam Blipnic

There was something surreal about our blipnic (that's a good thing).

Karenjulia and ljw82 are the other 2 blippers at UC. We met at the Wednesday lunchtime market to blipnic for Oxfam.

Here they are with Ernie and Bert. Unfortunately I didn't have a memory card in my camera when Ernie (left) tried to eat Bert's hat (right). It was nice to see Ernie's enthusiasm for Oxfam.

Fortunately we weren't organised when Ernie became overly friendly with Bert and instigated a bit of 'how's your father'. Naughty ;-)

The market is a great thing and we hope it continues beyond the planned next weeks. It fits right in with the rusting wheel barrows used by the Student Army post-quake to help residents clean up, and the portaloos you need in case nature calls.

We ended up eating our Souvalakis and steamed mussels on the upper floor of a quitessential London bus bound for Wimbleton. It has a natural wobble factor which made us feel right at home. We couldn't tell when the bus wobbled and when the earth shook.

Today we heard another 50 buildings have been added to the demolition list in the city, with the total number of demolitions now near 500. Several hundred more are expected. Indeed we will have a vastly different city.

2 more big sleeps and I spend the long Queen's Birthday weekend at the Hunters.
