Long Slow Distance

Scapesheep

I headed out of Lewes, taking the steep lane from Cliffe, and then the footpath, past the obelisk and skirting the golf course eventually reached the hill that overlooks Malling and Lewes beyond.

At the top there's a cairn built of flints encased in wire mesh, and the subject of this blip, a raggedy sheep that I thought resembled that painting The Scapegoat by William Holman Hunt.

Nearby the scenery was stunning yet just to one side there had been some felling of trees which I hoped was for good reason.

That's it.
