One of five a day

Late bloomer

The weekend was spent in services to cycling and spring cleaning - yes - there was more cleaning. And so as the end of the Sunday approached, so did the realisation that services to Blipfoto were pending.

Cleaning had revelead several lost possessions, which all lent themselves to ineteresting still life subjects. And I thought I had shot something I wanted to post when I discovered this surprise...

It was late in November last year when it was noticed that this Orchid had not blossomed in a long time. And so, had started the mixed exercise of administering it Orchid feed and positive thinking. I had noticed a fat bud on Friday night, and had been hoping to post a series of phased blossoming photos, even capturing a time lapse video.

But not this... sitting quietly un-noticed, the bud had blossomed fully over the weekend. The challenge then was to find acceptable lighting to shoot it late in the evening.

Finally three light sources, bits of kitchen paper and a hand held mirror produced acceptable enough detail to Blip with.

And so what was beginning to look like another winter of discontent produced one happy outcome. Blip, blip
