Thanksgiving in June

That's right ~ Thanksgiving in June ~
Why you ask? Well it went something like this:
Cat, a foreign exchange student from New Zealand, "I've never had a Thanksgiving dinner..."
Ally, the local 'make it happen girl', "We should have one before you leave to go back home."
Cat, "i only will be here two more weeks."
Ally, "We'll do it this weekend, at Bria's house..."

Wait ~ WHAT?

yup ~ full Thanksgiving Dinner for 12.

Can you spell . . S C R A M B L E ?

and i ask, can a turkey even be found in June in America? Well, it is not easy. We ended up with the only bird we could find. Twenty five pounder ~ frozen ~ the day before. Picked up a ham. and then started looking for the other traditional items: pumpkin pie (never found ~ too late to make from scratch), cranberries (not canned) unavailable (the clerk laughed at us). But we ended up with plenty PLENTY of really good good food. It was fun.

and the weather ~ ahhh blessed weather ~ mid 70s for a high ~ full clouds ~ and a cooling thunder rain lightening storm ~ while we are cooking. All the gods smiled upon us! it was perfect.

So what are you grateful for?
