Kea at Deaths Corner, Arthurs Pass

This is one of my favourite photos that i have ever taken. We were traveling from The West Coast to Canterbury in New Zealand, when we stopped at Deaths Corner. I wanted to snap a photo of the view but the local Kea decided to come down and pose for the camera. We had our dog aptly named Kea with us but when her namesake flew down within a few feet of us she wasn't happy and we had to put her back in the car.
These Kea are normally found between the altitude of 300 metres and 2000 metres, i believe we were at nearly 1000 metres when we took this photo.
