Bodging

I've had a great day learning how to use a polelathe, something I've wanted to do for ages. The course was run by Colin Wells at Amberley Working Museum, and we started by cleaving the wood, shaped it on a shave horse, and then turned it on a lathe. All in the traditional, old-fashioned way! My resultant rolling pin is a bit rustic in appearance, it has to be said, but I'm planning to return for another day's practise as soon as I get chance.

Many thanks to those who identified the Hypericum/St John's Wort that it turns out I blipped yesterday. I'm wondering if there could be a herbal remedy business in the offing....;o)
