Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh A&E Department

We found ourselves there late on Sunday night as my mother had been admitted after an accident (not too serious). Back again this evening to visit, when it struck me what an interesting building this is. I have seen it from the air on the approach to Edinburgh airport, when one is struck by the sheer scale of it, situated in the south-east corner of the city. The RIE has 900 inpatient beds and some 6,000 babies are born there each year. It also has Scotland's busiest A&E Department. The staff we dealt with could not have been more helpful. My daughter works at the RIE as a radiographer.
