Florida Tortoise

Went to visit my sister out in the woods and this friendly little tortoise lives there. He saw me coming and I had to run who said they were slow?
It is hotter than blue blazes here could not even go out today. We did get a really good rain storm hail and all. We needed it so desperately. We have smoke everywhere there are fires all about. We are lucky they are not close to us.
The Florida Tortoise is an endangered species and is protected here.
Most of us native Floridians grew up calling these gophers.
