Old West

The village I was born in, close to the sea in the cold winter of "48
The part to the right of the lighthouse we call old West.
The first houses and streets of the village "West" on the Island Terschelling.
The way I remember it , it had lots of smoke from the woodstoves hanging over de red roofs on a windless day.
The more smoke the later in the day it was, and we had to get home for dinner.
Here it is about the same time, the ferry is heading for the mainland for the last time today
Enjoying the last sunrays of the day I pack in and head for home in time for dinner.
The kite and camera come down easy in the light eavening breeze.

It is fun to live on an Island.
