Red & Pink & White

Red and pink and white valerian,
any-every-where we thrive,
filling every barren corner,
thrusting forth where wall meets drive,
shouting, screaming, Look at us -
call us weed - but we're alive!
Never mind the lack of rainfall,
we can almost jump and jive,
through decay of others' wilting,
in we dig, watch us arrive -
in every little nook and cranny
spreading red and pink and white.
Save your watering cans for others,
we're valerian - we survive.
