Aspen

The aspen are just leafing out. These white barked trees with the dark lines and bumps have always been a favorite. On today's hike, high up they were just in bud, slightly lower the leaves were barely unfurled, and then further along we came upon this beautiful mature stand. Lots are downed from fire and storm damage. But so so so so many new babies coming up to stand in their place.
