For no visible reason, last night when he was put to bed Edgar immediately crawled over, grabbed the monkey (which has sat almost untouched in the corner of his cot for nine months) and pressed it against his face as he settled down to sleep. This morning he dragged it through with him when he was collected after announcing that he had awoken and sat cuddling/waving it about. Whilst it's nice that it'll hopefully now be a comfort-providing device (perhaps if someone other than Nicky or I has to get him settled down to sleep) it also means we have to take extra-special care to ensure that the monkey is never misplaced, lost or vomited upon.
