fairy boats launch

It was 90 degrees out but the air was cool and green down by the river. The kinders and I made fairy boats with birch bark, a twig mast and a leaf for a sail. The excitement was seeing if they would make through the currents and around the rocks down past the log stump that looked like it had a monkey on it. Maybe I should have used the picture where the kids are beside themselves with glee/worry that their boats would make it.
Of course we had to rescue and re-launch some boats repair, rebuild and build again.
The forest was filled with their joyful noise.
