Life, a daring adventure!

If there were no schools to take the children ...

"If there were no schools to take the children away from home part of the time, the insane asylums would be filled with mothers."

~ Edgar W. Howe

Weekends should be relaxing, shouldn't they? Well, today was less than relaxing! We attended another school fete, this time at Charis's school, Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis (Inverness Gaelic Primary School). We nipped to Dad~in~law's first and then headed to the school. The girls had a brilliant day, big favourites being the art class with Peggy, the face painting and the bouncy castle.

We struggled with where to put Charis to school when we were looking to register her for pre~school nursery in 2009. She was already attending a fantastic private nursery, which we knew would be hard to beat, but when I visited our local school nursery they were having an off day. So I swiftly made an appointment to view the Gaelic Primary ... and fell in love with the place! Our only concern was the language, given it is full immersion, but we need not have been concerned!

This evening it was the BBQ & Ceilidh, and the excitement of the raffle draws! We came home with a suitcase of Walkers biscuits & shortbread, and Charis. (Aka Mummy) guessed the teddy's name was Seoras (Gaelic for George, Dad~in~law's name). Oh goody ... another giant teddy to clutter the room!

Regarding my photo, I love Highland Dancing and always thought one of my girls would dance. Charis tried it but she didn't really get much from it. Perhaps Niamh will be our wee dancer!
